Charter schools

Clip to ScrapBook #4

At least around here charter schools get less money per student than public school (they get the state chunk but not the local chunk) so they are always looking for ways to cut costs.

The bad charters here don't give preps or have extended school day yet you only get one prep.

The good charters realize to get good test scores you have to treat teachers somewhat humanely. The one I worked for was one of the better ones and we actually had 3 forty minute periods of non-student time per day. There were 9 periods and everyone taught or had duty 6 of them.

I teach in a public school now and it's better in a million ways. Start job hunting.

Btw- unless the gym teacher is trying to teach gym to 75 kids at once that is beyond ridiculous.
