I have recently finished reading "In the Middle" by Nancie Atwell and was wondering if anyone has used "Lessons That Change Writers," and your feelings towards it? Would it be suitable for 7th and 8th grade?

The next book on my list is "The Art of Teaching Writing" by Lucy Calkins. I know that she is a big part of The Writing and Reading Projects, and was wondering if Nancie Atwell and Lucy Calkins practices jive or are contrary?

Any info on any of this would be helpful.
