Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi, there!
I've had a problem develop in my first grade classroom that I have never seen or even heard of before and I've taught for over 25 years!! I have a little girl in my class who is as sweet as can be but the boys seem to have really taken a negative attitude toward her. It took me a few weeks to decide what was actually happening. When we would line up to leave the room for any reason, she was often one of the first 2 or 3 kids there. Then there was this quiet shuffling of boys one by one like dominoes going to the back of the line (to keep from standing by her). The same thing happens when we go to the floor for various activities. I'm sure I could solve it by assigning "spots", etc., but have only 11 students so that seems a bit unnecessary. She is a TALKER, but otherwise I have never seen any problem that she caused of an ongoing nature, other than the normal range of things that 1st graders do. I have not seen any overt meanness, etc. either.
