I am taking a course through Learner's Edge and the new edition is the text. I have the original one too, but it is packed away at school so I can't make too many comparisons yet. I haven't dug too deep into it yet either, but from a quick look through it does include consideration for the Common Core Standards and at the beginning of each chapter she has charts for "Possible Supporting Targets" and "Possible Assessments for Learning".
