I'd take the extra half hour at the beginning and end if we could add extra recess. My little ones only get one 15 min. recess a day. Something tells me that my high achieving Title One school won't buy that idea though. It will be seen as more time to teach the standards.
I have no idea why today wasn't used. I think it is ridiculous! Especially now that we are looking for ways to make up one day....
