Ask how often you will be required to enter grades. What I really don't like is that grades are published as soon as you enter them. If you are in a habit of entering grades, then dropping several that are low, parents see them before you drop them and freak out.

The fact that parents can check grades online sounds great, but has some drawbacks. The parents you wish would check never do, but the helicopter parents check it constantly and contact you about every grade lower than their expectations - for example, "Why does she have a B+ instead of an A? Can she do it over?" or, "I notice grades haven't been updated since last Thursday. When can we expect Powerschool to be updated? How can I know what's going on if you haven't updated?" or "Why didn't you contact me when my darling son was missing an assignment before he got a 0 on it? or "I know he made up that missing assignment and turned it in yesterday. Why isn't it changed in Powerschool?"
