I was trained on this earlier this summer. In my district, it is going to be used a way to think about a unit of study and key concepts for that unit. From this plan, we would develop our weekly and daily plans. The UBD plans is to be done as a grade level. More like a guide to make sure everyone understands the key information needed for to students to master concepts. This would be way too much work for each and every lesson.
