I taught at an inner city Catholic High School from 2004 until 2006 and we had block scheduling. I taught music appreciation, band, and theatre arts. I did not think it worked well for the school’s population because these students had low attention spans and many had tough home lives and were not interested in learning. Many were failing a lot of classes.
It would have worked for theatre arts in some situations, but music it was too long a time for music and band.
