Use Social Studies articles, passages, and stories to teach reading comprehension skills/ strategies such as text features, main idea/ supporting details, cause and effect, compare and contrast, vocabulary. Science is another area to you can really integrate with Reading easily.
Weekly Readers, Time for Kids, and even the newspaper and/ or magazines are great social studies resources.
