Do you have a mentor? Is there anybody who can help run interference for you and give you some advice? 140 kids is an awful caseload. Until you get the classes in order, I would teach cookbook math, going exactly by the teacher manual. Don't spend your time trying to do fancy lessons. Is there any way to talk to parents to get their support? Send a newsletter or something? You need somebody to help get the kids in line.
