How do you make reader's workshop work in a 50 minute class period. I am doing small groups and even that feels rushed at times. My goal is to get to know the students needs on a more individual level so that I can help them. I do believe in lots of independent reading, but am having a difficult time fitting it all in a 50 minute period.
