It's both sad and heartening to read the comments that follow those videos. Sad because it's like she's some hero just for the way she sees motherhood (which leads me to believe there are way more people than I thought who have no clue how to parent and how the heck did I happen?) and heartening because it's good that parents who don't have a grasp of effective parenting are finding her videos and realizing they have merit.

I don't understand how we've somehow developed this idea of parenting as a friendship act. It's been developing over time, but it's shocking that the ideas that this mom has put forth in the videos is "new stuff" to so many parents.
