Clip to ScrapBook #3

Nice links, GraceKrispy!

I also don't have anything specific, but I think having a discussion about what forgiveness means (because forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting) and the effects of deciding to forgive or deciding not to forgive.

When I taught the upper grades, I would do a Morning Meeting every day with Fridays being tweaked into a Solving Circle. I would probably integrate this into both times, but really focus on the Solving Circle time. Start by modeling a time when you had the choice to forgive or not and what was the result of your decision. You could then present some scenarios in which the students would discuss the pros and cons of forgiving in each situation. Then hopefully students would be comfortable enough to share their own situations (it could be anonymous too). This would be over many days and should be an ongoing activity because it's a good life lesson.

Hope this helps!
