I did this in fourth grade. The students get assigned seats in both classrooms. They only need to bring the books and materials they need for the subject. They put the books under their desks. It takes a few weeks to get them organized and used to the schedule. We write the materials they needed for the other class on the board. It will work out fine. I loved teaching and planning for two subjects and not all of them.
