Clip to ScrapBook #2

It's pretty lame. There are shared reading lessons (whole group) and guided reading lessons. The problems we have found (I teach third) are that the first few units are way too easy and not really helpful. The guided reading is a good idea; unfortunately there are not books included for every week for each level. We've had to supplement quite a bit. The non-fiction books are ok, but most of the fiction books are really pretty bad.

The sad thing is, I think K & 1 piloted it last year - no one ever looked at the older grades. This school had nothing before so I guess something is better than nothing, but I don't think it is challenging at all. The only decent component in my opinion is the writing.
