It takes a lot of time to complete each lesson, which is common with constructivist learning since the kids are creating their own meaning. You will find gaps with the kids who come to you. Subtraction with re-grouping is not solid, and their multiplication facts are weak. You will eventually get kids (once they've used Bridges through the grades) that don't have good number sense. Bridges doesn't require the kids to achieve mastery in some skills, and by the fifth grade, that makes it difficult to work with fractions, long division, and decimals. For the first quarter of the year, I supplement heavily in those three areas. Our test scores are good, but not great.
