Can an older teacher get hired? Should she want to?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I graduated from college with an elementary education degree 32 years ago. Since that time, I have taught four years (3 right after college and 1 twenty years later, after raising my 7 children). It's been 7 years since being downsized (at a private school) and since then I have worked a series of part-time jobs, only the last year as a substitute teacher.

I may be able to get a job (I tend to interview well) but am nervous about working full-time again. Most of the teachers I know seem completely overwhelmed. I think fondly of my teaching days but worry that the expectations on teachers are so much greater now that it would consume my whole life. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thank you.
