I hope some of you children are near enough to lend a hand preparing materials and setting things up. It's always nice to have extra hands to get established.

Speaking of which, scout around the school and see if there is someone compatible who might serve as an informal (or formal if that is available) mentor during your first year back. It's good to have someone who knows the culture of the school, who can give a heads up about various traditions and celebrations and their dates, who knows what is most important and has less priority to accomplish.

Enjoy your adventure.

Feel free to post on the grade level board, busy board, or even vent for support from experienced teachers. We buoy each other up.
