are any long term sub jobs posted on aesop. I have never seen any and so I am wondering if they ever show up in aesop.

When I JUST started subbing there were several long term sub jobs posted on Aesop (assignments several weeks long). There was only one last year - a two-week fourth grade job. I think some might be posted, but others just go to preferred subs already and/or are snapped up immediately.

In my neck of the woods, long-term jobs are posted on the county ROE site along with regular positions. I believe my state requires a long-term sub to be a certified teacher, so they treat it like any other teacher position. But in reality long-term subs are usually hand-picked and the posting is just a formality. Good luck to you; it would be nice to be in the same place every day for a while.

In my area, all long term substitute positions (usually 6 weeks or more) are posted on PAREAP or PAEducator. I have seen a few 3-4 day positions posted on AESOP but nothing longer than that. I think that if a teacher needed to be out for more than a week, the school might get a substitute that they are comfortable with to fill in.

How do you know if your school district uses AESOP? Does this apply to certain states?

Your school district should tell you what system they use and give you a brochure with the instructions when you get hired as a sub.
