Even and Odd numbers

I have a child that has difficulty memorizing which numbers are odd and which are even. We have taught himto think about numbers that have pairs ie: 2+2 is an even number and ones that do not are odd. We have also begun to show him with manipulatives (unifix cubes) a tower of the number split in half so that it is either even or odd. He is still having trouble. Does anyone have a song? rhyme? rap? or even just some more visual ideas to help? Thanks a bunch

Wow, it's like you read my mind. Last year, I helped my 1st graders get the even number concept by teaching them "0, 2, 4-6-8, even numbers are so great!" But then one kid's response was, "well then, what about the odd numbers? Aren't they great too?" To which I ad-libbed "1, 3, 5-7-9, odd numbers are also fine."

I was so damn proud of myself. =)
