My first year, too

It has been super helpful to be looking over this board that is filled with such great information. What I am curious about is the first week of school.... what are your plans like? If you are not open the first week, what does your first week of classes include?

My library is open during the first week. It just all depends if my tech department has our patron data ready for check out. If they do, we check out starting the first day. If not we don't. The first week of classes is all about the same issue you would do with a classroom: attendance, assigned seats, fire drill, rules, routines, getting to know each other. The only difference from a classroom is you do this many many times throughout the week.
