Living situations around the world

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Does anyone know of a good powerpoint/ web site appropriate for first graders to show them how others live around the world? We talk a lot about how lucky we are to live in the US and everything we should be grateful for as others have a lot less. I want to show some pictures from around the world, but nothing that will upset them or scare them, of course. Anyone know of anything that is already put together for this?

They have a great section on their website for teachers. They have lesson plans and movies that show children in poverty around the world and how the gift of animals from Heifer has helped them, and just about everything is either downloadable or can be viewed through the site. Each grade level has a movie that features kids from a different part of the world. Here's a link: http://www.heifer.org/getinvolved/sc...room-resources
