I am interested in obtaining an ESL endorsement to my NJ standard teaching certificate. University of Phoenix is offering courses on ESL . These courses are NOT a degree which is what I am looking for. I just want to get certified as ESL in NJ. Can anyone tell me if they followed this course of action, what they thought of it and if NJ accepted these courses for certification (they are called continuing teacher education courses)? Also, if you did not follow this program and you have a good experience obtaining your ESL certification for NJ I would love to hear about the program you did. Trying to talk to the state has been a real issue. I can't get any straight answers.

I am not sure if NJ will accept, but FHSU.edu (in Kansas) has a ESL certification program that is all online. I just finished mine.
