We are looking for ideas for complex and interesting novels for gifted fourth and fifth. Something that we can really bring in other aspects of of learning (science, social studies, character ed, technology, etc). Anyone have tried and true novels that they love for this age? Thanks!

Love this question!! I have been pondering it all summer! Any suggestions on activities that can be done with Wonder? This is one book I want to do. I also recently read about another book, The eye of the storm, by Kate Messner. I was thinking Wonder lends itself to lessons/activities extending point of view and the Eye of the Storm would be great to tie in some weather or natural disaster activities. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
