Student Data folders in library

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Greetings All,
I am at this moment sitting in a pd regarding student data folders for all specials, including library. Does anyone find yourselves in this position, especially at the elementary level? I'm not sure where to begin and the leaders of the pd don't have any samples (even though we are expected to develop it).
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks

I'm an elementary librarian. Students don't receive a grade for library, but I am required each year to set a student-based goal and track that data to show my effectiveness in helping students achieve that goal. I can target a specific grad level for this purpose.

Last year I zoomed in on second grade and their online catalog search skills. I screened them by the 5th week or so of school as pre-test. I did a midyear eval just before winter break, and a post-assessment in early June.

I screened them on:
#1- being able to locate the bookmarked catalog site
#2- typing in a search
#3-7 pointing out to me the title, author, call number, circulation status (checked out or not), and where the summary/synopsis is located

Does this help at all?

Using the initial and.midyear scores, I had to document what I was going to do to remediate those weren't getting it. I cited things like a partnered mini-research assignment that paired a high achiever with a lower one, centers that helped them better learn the key terms involved in a search, and one-on-one assistance as needed.
