Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi,

I may be asking for some "magic words", but I would like to know what are some things you say to your students that will make teaching about ancient civilizations relevant to 6th graders.

I use interactive journals, foldables, Mr.Donn, Duckster, and games. I am always looking to see what other teachers do.

Thanks!

Dynamics of power and interpersonal relationships are always relatable to my 5th graders, seems like those would also be of interest to 6th graders. Maybe see if you can frame the content with those kinds of stories? Also maybe frame things as "explorations" where students are looking at artifacts and information and working to put it all together into a picture of the civilization as a whole?
