As I am new to the library, I would like to know if everyone follows common core curriculum?

Not a Common Core State

We did away with Common Core. I use AASL standards when I write lesson plans. Our state doesn't have a curriculum or state standards for library. I write my own pacing guide for my elementary library curriculum to plan out the skills to teach each year and to build upon in the coming years.

I'm in Virginia-not a Common Core state. We call our state standards for content areas Standards of Learning- yes we're all S.O.L. We don't ahve standards for library, so most districts use the AASL standards/benchmarks to map curriculum.

because the classroom teachers do and we do a lot of co-teaching. lIke other posters, I use the AASL guidelines and crosswalk, it's a very handy tool.

Our Solution to Curriculum

Texas doesn't have CommonCore either. Our district librarians got together a committee and wrote elementary lesson plans for us last year. It's not carved in stone that you use though. They are based on AASL standards and incorporate our district classroom curriculum and state TEKS objectives. The plan is to write middle and high school lesson plans in the next couple of years. We include a curriculum map and specific objectives for each standard. It was a lot of work...Whew! Well worth it tho. We are updating it each year with additional lessons that teachers submit.
