Very interesting article by E. D. Hirsch Jr. about problem with schools is more lack of quality curriculum than teacher quality. Of course, Hirsch has a book and curriculum to suggest/sell. Still. . . it's always good to be defended.

After reading the link below written by a Japanese professor/educator, I think the Japanese article practically disputes Hirsch's article. (Long read, but very enlightening to know that Japan also suffers problems in their education system.)
