New Textbooks for ELA

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello,
I teach English to 7th and 8th-grade students with exceptional needs.
The school will begin using new textbooks during the 2017-2018 school year and decided on Houghton Mifflin Harcourt California Collections.

It appears to have a great deal of support and teacher resources to use to meet students' specific needs.

I would like feedback from anyone who is using the material. Is it easy for the students to access the audio version and other components of the program?
Did you create a plan with key lessons with to cover during the year?

Thank you very much,

We were forced to part with our textbooks a few years back. I do remember that kids never used our online audio components, but I did use it with them in class. I had a few iPads where I could set up a kid who was absent up in the hallway to listen to the story.

For the year long curriculum, we started with a minimum course of study. From there, we added and deleted as needed. I think it would be impossible to go through an entire anthology! Then again, we don't give homework and basically do every little thing with students.

Best of luck. I would love to have an anthology again! All I do now is make copies
