Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi. I was wondering if any 5th grade teachers have created a flexible seating classroom that was functional. I want to try getting rid of 1/2 my desks in my classroom and using maybe bean bag chairs, camping chairs, etc. Has anyone done this successfully with 5th graders?

I am in the process of creating this. Last year, I had desks at the back of my room without chairs for those who wanted to stand. I had yoga mats, cut in half, for those who wanted to work on the floor. I also had some other chairs, but students had to earn passes.

This year, I will have a table with Kore balance chairs, a coffee table with cushions, desks along one wall where they can stand, a few desks with regular chairs, and a reading nook.
