I posted this on the busy board and didn't get a nibble. Maybe one of you has an idea for me!

Do you have a favorite educational app? I received a grant for 3 Amazon Fire Kid's tablets! I teach 3rd grade inclusion, which includes several children who'll need major remediation mostly in reading and 1 child on the Autistic spectrum at a high academic level. What educational apps do you like?

These come with access to a year of books and apps, but I want to make sure I download the ones most useful.

Suggestions?

Unfortunately, my district doesn't allow us to download apps without filling out a 3 page form. It's horrible. My favorite app is Epic. It's reading. If I could have anything, I really like abcya, but I think it may be a paid app. If you google educational apps there are a ton of things that come up.

I also like EPIC and so does my class, they enjoy it a lot more than Raz Kids (which you have to pay for, but EPIC is free for educators)

Math Bingo (one of ABCYAs games) is popular with my grade 3s as a way to practice math facts.

I like Pictello...kids can use it to create their own books. I have heard Book Creator is also good, but I have not tried that one.

I also like Comic Life. Kids create their own comics. We have used it for many different activities in various areas of the curriculum.

I use MobyMax(both reading and math) and ReadTheory (they are both free).

Our school pays for SuccessMaker as well.
