I just started a combined class of pre-k and kindergarten, and have a question about report card or grading. I was wondering should I have two separate report cards. I have a report card I found online that I have been using for pre-k for the last 8 years, but do not have one for kindergarten. I teach at a private Christian school in Florida.

Can you share the Pre-K report card you use? If you have autonomy, I would probably use something similar, but have higher skills for kindergarten. The K report card would likely be more academic, too.

If you share your PK card, I would have input on changes I would make.

Also, what standards/curricula do you use?

I use for pre-k 4 yr old Florida state standards and preschool plan it standards. Curriculum for pre-k and kindergarten I use preschool plan it, prekinders, and literacy express, and tpt for kindergarten etc. I will tweet the pre-k report card. Shapes to include hexagon, octagon, and trapezoid. The kindergarten I will tweet with adding hexagon, octagon, and trapezoid. Sight words I will change the sight words that I will use. I will use ESGI for my assessments this year. My pre-k report card I found on prekinders web site.

Can you get a copy of the public school's kindergarten report card? That would be the easiest thing to do. There's a difference between the standards/ expectations/ skills for the two age groups. We have a "cross walk" between our state's Early Learning and Development Standards which is super helpful. Best wishes--it's a great age group to work with.
