I think most of my students will remember me as kind, caring, fun, and creative (that is, if they remember me at all ). How about you?

I would like to think that my students would remember me as
Quote:

and funny, but since I mostly taught primary grades, they will probably not remember me at all. I don't remember anything about my K-2 grade teachers.
ETA: After reading PoohBear's response, I too have a couple of my first graders with whom I'm FB friends. I had totally forgotten that. One of them is now an MD!

I know at least some of my kindergarten students remember me 20+ years later because Iím fb friends with them

I once had had a student arrive midyear from a bad school situation. Her mom told me that when she got home after the first day she said ďI like Mrs PoohBear, she understands kidsĒ If Iím remembered for that, Iíll be happy

I will likely be remembered as a teacher with good read alouds. I loved reading to my students daily. I will also be remembered as funny, but strict. We are there to work but you have to stop and laugh once in a while.

I checked out at a grocery store in Austin recently while visiting family. My last name changed in 2008 so the checker did not recognize me by name. Just as I was about to walk away she asked if I had ever taught school and I said yes. She had been a fourth grade student of mine at least 15 years ago before my name change. I have also aged and gained weight and she still recognized me. She thanked me for being a good teacher to her. It does not get much better than that folks. She made my day.

I'll probably not be remembered by many. If anyone does recall me, they'd say I had a song for everything.

I think mine will say I was kind, caring, creative, story teller, and funny. I would always try to make learning fun and they knew that. I think they would say I was a sports fan. (Especially Da Bears and U of Arizona) I almost forgot they would say I was the crazy cat lady!

Works for me.

I was told by a former student that they liked me because I listened.

Also, because I was a good read aloud reader and story teller.

Recently the uncle (and former student of mine) of a student at our school came to have lunch with his nephew. The boy's mom is also a teacher at our school. He was telling some of her teammates that when he was in first grade he had a crush on me, but now he is pretty sure I am the one with a crush on him. . He was always a character!

I think/ hope kids remember me as the teacher that got them started on the path to reading and who loved to share books and poetry with them. I think they will remember me as being a bit strict, but fair. And, of course crazy about cats and monarch butterflies.

As a side note- I remember all my grade school teachers with clarity, but once I got to junior high ( 9 th grade) I don't remember much about any of them.

I've run into quite a few of my former students and they all seem happy to see me. They come up to me because I often don't recognize them until they tell me who they are. I think we are remembered differently by each student depending upon what they take away. I'm known universally for my humor, but also for reading, being strict but also merciful. I guess it changes with each class also!!
