What was your favorite game to play as a kid? Any Halloween games you would like to share?

I grew up in a family of game players. Although we played lots of different games, my favorite was and still is Yahtzee.

Dodgeball. Hands down, dodgeball. The neighborhood kids used to play in the middle of the street and pause for the occasional car. We were outside kids and I was a tomboy. Loved dodgeball.

Monopoly! My brother and I would play endlessly. Some games lasted several days before one of us finally beat the other. We also liked to play poker with a couple of friends.

Street games I enjoyed were the classic hide and seek and a game called "beli" we played in Mexico with a broom stick cut into a six inch piece and a long piece. That game was a lot of fun and very popular where we lived.

Inside--I loved board games of any kind, especially Monopoly. Also in High School my friends and I were obsessed with playing Sheepshead.

Outside-- we liked to play Moonlight, Starlight.

Can't really think of any Halloween games at all.......

We played Parcheesi and Scrabble indoors. I hardly played outdoors (I was a city kid) but we'd play handball against a building and that was always fun. A classmate would have a big Halloween party every year and we'd play pin the stem on the pumpkin and we bobbed for apples. Her mom always hid coins in the apples....she'd probably have a lawsuit for causing dental damage if she did that today!

When I was in elementary school I loved hopscotch, jump rope, Red Rover, and playing on the teeter-totter and merry-go-round.

For board games- loved Monoploy and Scrabble (which was and still is my favorite.)

When I was a kid we used to make up treasure hunts for each other. We would have elaborate clues that would send us all over town and eventually lead to a small treasure like cold soda. My students used to love the bat relay race. I would cut bats out of black tissue paper, and we would have relay races with them by sucking them in with a straw. The kids would start laughing, the bats would fall to the ground, and they would have to go back and start over. It took forever to finish the relay race but they really liked it

Sonoma - The bat game sounds like a lot of fun. I was never much of a game player. I liked tag outside. Wonder what today's kids would choose.
