Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have a parent who would like to help her son at home with reading comprehension and writing. She requested suggestions of resources she could use, so I'm looking for ideas to pass on to her.

Ideas?

Newsela.com. We only use the free portion of this program but it's great. You can choose news articles based on lexile or interests. They post new articles daily written for kids. They are high interest and there's a quiz at the end of each one if you want to test your comprehension.
