Back from Australia and New Zealand

Clip to ScrapBook #1

We are back home now after just a small hiccup that required us to run around two airports in the USA like maniacs trying to rearrange and catch new flights. All is fine now and American Airlines even delivered our luggage to our house this morning.

I can't overstate how fabulous Australia and New Zealand were. The cities we visited were so clean, interesting, easy to navigate, and friendly. So many people were helpful to us- I love Ozzies and Kiwis!

Perhaps our two best days were away from the city: In Australia, we ventured out to the Blue Mountains, Feather Dale Park to see the native animals and then Scenic World, home of the steepest inclined railway in the world.

In New Zealand, we went to Hobbiton, the movie set where they filmed the Lord of the Rings movies. The drive out there (2-3 hours) was so bucolic, and the hobbit holes and other details were amazing.
The cruise was very nice but took second place compared to Australia and New Zealand, although we had some fabulous experiences: guests at a native church in Suva, Figi, a visit to the home of our taxi driver for refreshments in Lautoka, Fiji, and trips to Maui and Pearl Harbor.

Laundry beckons me! I will write that extensive review and give you directions to my website.

Your trip sounds wonderful and stress-free (except that airport hiccup). I'd love to go to Australia and New Zealand. It's not a trip I'll ever be able to make so I look forward to your summary. Welcome home.

Your trip sounds fabulous! I've heard the scenery in New Zealand is particularly lovely. And how nice not to struggle with a foreign language.
