Field Trips

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I had a parent come to a field trip and remove her child without telling me. Iím going nuts trying to find her. Finally I got the students phone number and talked to her mother. She said she was mad and took her child.

Is there anything a district can do?

Honestly, it depends on your district. In my district, you could be fired for this. I'm assuming the child came on a school provided bus. Basically, the reason is we are liable and the parent could lie and say they didn't talk their child. Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn't make a big stink. You had no idea where the child was. In my district, you would be fired for this. Also, how did the parent just leave? Usually, here only one, sometimes two, guardians are allowed with the agreement that they will take the same transport as us there and back and will have a group of students.
