How to address resignation

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have resigned from my position and will not be returning after Christmas. The decision was based on many reasons, but primarily a need to lessen stress in my life due to my husband's deteriorating health.

My principal has told me not to let anyone know yet, but I am preparing for how to best tell my kiddos/parents that I won't be coming back. Ideas for a parting gift/letter?

The times I had to do it (twice) I sent a letter home with parents that was short and sweet. I focused on how proud I was of the class and how I expected them to give their new teacher the same respect and hard work that they had given me.

It is hard, but everyone will survive.
