Acryllic vs. Finger Paint

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I saw these fingerprint/thumbprint reindeer and snowman ornaments on Pinterest. I thought my kids could do these as parent Christmas gifts. do I have to use finger paint, or can I use regular paint? The only finger paint I've found came in a kit with multiple different colors. I'd really only need 2 colors, so I'd rather not buy a whole set. I also know the whole set is has very small portions of each color and I want to make sure I have enough. Acryllic paint just seems like it would be more cost effective, especially since our art teacher as some I can use () . Would that work on a glass ornament for a fingerprint/thumbprint? Or do I have to use finger paint?

Use acrylic or it won't stick. I speak from experience.

My team has made the snowman fingerprint ornaments for years. We always used acrylic paint and never had any problems.

Just be careful with clothing. As the PP, said it needs to be acrylic to stick. However, acrylic doesn’t come out of clothing, so make sure you supervise closely.
