Class gift thank you card question

Many of my families went together, and got me a class gift. I'm stuck on how to do thank you cards since I don't know for sure who participated. I don't want to leave anyone out, but I also don't want to make any families feel bad by sending a generic thank you card if they didn't/couldn't give anything towards it. Suggestions?

I know a hand written personal thank you is the way you want to go...but this is a situation where a group email or note in the class newsletter is appropriate:

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday, and many thanks for the lovely gift! You all are so kind to think of me at this hectic time of year.

No need to single out families that did not contribute. Just my opinion.

Agree.. If those that contributed didn't want you to thank EVERYONE, then they shouldve written their names on the card. Unless they think you have a sixth sense and can figure out who contributed and who didn't.

I would just send one letter to everyone thanking them for gift. Those that contributed will appreciate it and those that didn't/couldn't would appreciate your holiday greeting...hopefully.
