Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi! I am working on an order for materials/tools for my writing center for my first graders. We are working on increasing volume, so we are adding flaps and going through tape at a furious rate! For our tools we have the usual pencils, pens, erasers, paper choices, scissors, tape, staplers, staple removers...

I think I need assorted post its. Do you have anything for your writers that I could add to my supplies?

Thanks!

Do you use colored pencils or pens for editing or "adding more"? I like blue and green for this. Also use sentence strips sometimes.

Yes, we have colored pens. Colored pencils and I don't get along- can't seem to keep them sharpened!

We just started adding sentence strips- our coach class them spider legs!

Thanks for your help!

Definitely Post-its!

I use post-it arrows and a sheet so that students can indicate where they are in their writing. I also printed some post-its at Zazzle that have stars and "My Writing Goal Today is:" which student and I complete after conferencing. I also made some "Quiet Critters" for students to have at their tables for the first 15 minutes of quiet writing before sharing and conferencing.
