Valentine's Day

Does anyone have a simple idea for a container for students' Valentines Day cards? I have always used decorated white paper bags, (I started teaching in the 80s!) but valentines have evolved into full-on candy treats and the bags barely hold them and some rip. Looking for something free/very cheap and not too large...but cute too!

These work the best. Decorate one sheet to put inside. It is cute while the bag is empty.

Just a thought, some teachers at our school made making a valentine box a home project. You should set parameters like size, no buying things to adorn, etc.

We have our 4th graders make it at home. Anything goes! Most use some type of box, shoeboxes are popular.

We have parents send in shoe boxes or some type of sturdy box. Some years we have them decorate them at school and other years we have had them decorate them at home and bring them in. The latter is definitely easier!

I've seen shoeboxes a lot too. I think they turn out really cute.
