Do you consider Trumpet of the Swan, Stuart Little, and/or Charlotte Web to be an appropriate reading level (decoding and comprehension) for the average third grade reader? Looking for my own child Thanks

According to Scholastic Book Wizard, the guided reading level of Charlotte's Web is Level R. Our kids are expected to be at Level M by the second trimester in third grade So, I would say it is for an above-average reader. Trumpet of the Swan and Stuart Little are also listed as "R" books. Hope this helps.

They may be a bit too hard for an average 3rd grader. Like NJ Teacher said, they are a Level R.

This is the leveling correlation chart we use. At this point in 3rd grade they should be reading a level O/P. A level R would be considered exceeding even at the end of the year!
