Anyone want an angsty teen? She's cranky because she's waiting for the cast list to be posted and it isn't up yet. They're doing the Music Man. She wanted two parts in particular and didn't get them but I get the feeling she's not truly particular. After doing the audition, she overheard the casting committee say, "She could totally do....." but didn't hear the part. Her teacher complimented her this morning on having had a strong audition and told her that she didn't get a callback because she already got a part.
She is convinced that the part is in the ensemble.
Child is driving me crazy.

I hope she gets news soon! Please let us know what part she gets. My son did Music Man when he was in HS.

Oh man. I'm sure girls and boys are totally different about these things. I don't think mine really cared what part he got in the musical. Of course, now he's playing a queen so....: Hopefully she'll get the perfect part!! I don't blame her. Waiting sucks.

I had the same situation in my house 12 days ago, but with two angsty teen boys anxiously awaiting the cast list after having spent all evening Friday and all day Saturday at auditions and callbacks. They're doing Mary Poppins.

Sending positive thoughts your way, that she gets a role she is happy with. I know how hard it is for the kid and for mom (who hurts for her kid) when they're disappointed with their role.

I don’t have any kids of my own, but have been there myself. After 24 years of doing theatre I can say that waiting is hard. In my case, there are so many theatres in my area that I just move on to the next one. It has to be hard when the school show is your only option because then you have to wait another semester or year before you can try again.

I am acting in a play right now that opens next weekend. I got that phone call right away and I was happy because I directed and music directed for two straight years and had not acted in a while.
