What are some topics that you and your colleagues discuss at PLC's? We discuss reading and math a lot. We want to broaden our PLC time by discussing other topics. Thanks!

I find that topics from educational journals keep me up to date on topics. See if you can find some online related to a topic you teach or have an interest in.

We discuss math and ela too. But we also include kids work. Look for misconceptions, trends, difficulties across the grade or sometimes we help eachother with one struggling student
PLC's are BIG in my school.

We have two types at my school.

Once a month we meet with either the grade above us or below us to discuss curriculum, report cards, kids, etc.

The other type of PLC is of our choosing. At the beginning of the year, you decide what you are interested in studying/discussing/learning. I've been a part of a Daily 5/CAFE group, Report card rewriting group, and Atlas curriculum mapping group. We also have a Ron Clark group, Garden club group, playground improvement group,.....These are the PLCs we look forward to the most because we decided on what we wanted to talk about!

Each group meets one Thursday a month. We also have a faculty meeting once a month. All meetings take place on Thursday afternoons after school.
