Volunteer Gift--non candy

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I usually give out a small candy-bar type gift to our many volunteers--always with one of those corny, pun notes, like "You're a Lifesaver!" with Lifesaver candies.

This year we have a lot of older women who I know are on restricted diets. What kind of non-candy gift could I give? I can't spend a ton, so possibly something I could buy in bulk?

Thanks!

Googled and found on Pininterest these ideas. I like the hand soap.

I've done the hand soap or sanitizer idea before. Here's some free tags to go with it:

I had bought nice water bottles for parent volunteers before. It is something useful and they would appreciate to have during the hot days of summer.

I volunteer as well as sub... one of my greatest gifts was a basket at the end of the school year. In that basket were short handwritten thank you notes from every student at our school (over 300). I don't tell the story to brag... just to say that is truly the greatest gift I have ever received. If time permits, a hand-drawn card/note signed by the class would likely have a huge impact.

I subbed on teacher appreciation day once and we ended up with some extra time during our writing block. I asked the kids to write notes to their teacher--one thing they really liked or appreciated about her. She was truly overwhelmed the next morning when she found them on her desk.

My mom volunteers at a school. The teacher gave her a thyme plant with a tag that said "thank you for your thyme". I thought it was nice.
