UPDATE Prayers please and positive thoughts

Two weeks ago I asked for your prayers and positive thoughts.

A sincere thank you to each and every one of you. Our prayers were answered. This was a scary time for us.

My grandson was accidently burned when the bottle warmer overflowed. My daughter had him sitting on the counter as she prepared his bottle, so the water trickled down to the underside of his leg without her knowing. When she took him to the hospital, he was treated and told he had 2nd degree burns. But then, the doctor wanted to do x rays. As my daughter questioned WHY, she realized they suspected her of child abuse. They x rayed and then said he had 3 healing fractures on his arm and leg.. Then they reduced it to one after she insisted for a second opinion.. CYS was called and she was being investigated, along with the day care. Her other children were questioned. I got physically ill and thought I was having an heart attack. Those kids are OUR life. My ex and I got a lawyer for her. We were in shock.

There is no way she or husband would do such a thing. Never a doubt. So our immediate thoughts went to daycare or he had a medical problem to cause this.

Long story made shorter< He had to have x rays done yesterday, and basically was told the x rays were read in error. Not even an "I am sorry". Our family went through an emotional HELL.

She is so thankful there was no abuse from the daycare and no medical issues, she is not angry.

Thank you for reading this and thank you for your prayers.

ETA She was holding him with one arm as he sat on the counter

I am so glad that you had a positive outcome after such a terrible scare. I am sorry you and your family had to be subjected to this! I would report this to the hospital administrator - this type of error is unacceptable.

Wishing you the best as you move forward.

Wow! What a terrible experience for all! I do hope something is done in the hospital to prevent these mistakes in the future.

How scary - both the burns and the investigation! I am so glad everything turned out fine in the end, but it had to be incredibly stressful for everyone.

I agree with a letter or phone call to the hospital administrator! They need to be aware so that this does not happen again in the future.

I'm so sorry! It sounds like you've really been through it and it really stinks in every way. I'm wishing lots of boring days ahead for you all - at least for a while.

That is a nightmare. I'm glad everything worked out and that your GS is OK. I still remember the fear I felt when I took my DS to the ER with meningitis. They took me in the hall to question me about bruises on his legs. I also heard them questioning him. He was five and learning to ride a two wheel bike. Thank goodness my pediatrician was there. I totally understand the need for them to be vigilant and ask questions. But it is still so frightening.

I cannot imagine such a horrible nightmare. I am so glad that the outcome was good.

Years ago, my teenage son broke his arm twice within a year. I made DH take him to the doctor the second time, because I was quite worried that they'd start to look at me funny. Luckily it was fine. If I was worried for my teenage son, again, I can't imagine what you all went through.

Sooooo glad prayers were answered!
Dee
