Part 2 Rats Ate My Car

Well, this morning we found more liquid under my car. Turns out it is break fluid this time. So now we spend another $400. for the work to be done. I am so bummed. Yes, it is a great deal of money. But this has been such a good car I hope it call all be fixed and will be a good car again. I also hope we can get rid of these rats. or my husband thinks it might be squirrels.

We decided we need a professional exterminator so they are coming late tomorrow afternoon. Wish it was today.

I sure hope they don't get into our house. I wonder why they came into our garage. We don't even store the dog food out there.

In your new house or the one where you are now? I am sorry. They are such pests.

Are they doing construction near you? Sometimes their habitat gets disturbed and they go looking for a new home.

We had Chipmunks thinking our car air filter was a great winter home. They eventually went away. BUT we had to lift the hood and check before driving out of the driveway.

Rats and squirrels will look for a protected place to nest and have babies. Its doesnt need to have a food source because they fnd food outdoors. And yes...they do chew. Good luck!

We live in an older established neighborhood. However we did have an extreme cold snap that lasted several days. It stayed below freezing for three or four days which is unusual for this area. It was no fun for us and we were inside with the heater going so I am sure animals were very uncomfortable. So they were looking for warmer shelter I am sure. Maybe I will know more after the exterminator does his assessment on Friday.

Can you park your car in a different location? Sometimes it takes them a while to find it again.

For right now, be glad that they are chewing on things that are easily found...
Peppermint oil is highly rated, but I haven't tried it. We did try bobcat urine, but... who wants to drive around with it hanging from your car? And who can remember to remove it or put it on every day? We put something like the first on our truck and so far things are going well.

I guess I could park on the street. Thank you for the suggestions. I will think about the Rid a Rat.

I think the exterminator is a great idea. We have had a rat in our garage now and then, but as far as we know none of our property has ever been destroyed. I am sorry you are dealing with this!
