What's your binder? Moose, Bee, etc.

Hi everyone. I thought it would be neat to hear what everyone uses as their "moose" binder. I know there are a lot of them on that website - but what's actually being used?

Last year I did monkey - (my organized notebook keeps everything yearlong)

This year I have redone my room - so it's a CAMP binder (Communicating and Managing Paperwork)

These are from the site with all of the moose acronyms: www.smithsroom.com/MOOSE_Acronyms.htm

LION = Let's Include Organization Now

LION = Let's Instill Organization Now

LION = Let's Involve Organization Now

If you don't like these, post again! Maybe someone else will have different ideas.

It fits our school theme and fits my belief that organizational binders are a students friend! The acronym was suggested by a Proteacher friend:

This is my first year using the binders. I have a space theme and my students are Space Cadets. My binder is a ROCKET binder:

Cadets

The original had "Children", and I changed it to "Cadet".
It's fun to see how many different types there are!

The Tortoise and the Hare
Old 08-05-2008, 07:33 PM
  #55

I read the story, "The Tortoise and the Hare" at the beginning of the year. I emphasize that students who get their work done first or faster than everyone else does not necessarily mean that they are smarter; and sometimes they make mistakes because they are careless. I ask the children to be more like the tortoise. Take time to complete work so it is neat and ensure they are happy with their answers.

Therefore, I am thinking of calling my binders...the Take-home Tortoise.
I'm debating between....

I have a beach theme, so it's:

Organización
Lleva a
Aprender

(Organization leads to learning) -- OLA means "wave" in Spanish.

Last year I had a sports theme and it was:

Estudiantes
Que
Usan
Inteligencia
Para
Organización

(Students who use intelligence to be organized) -- EQUIPO means "team" in Spanish.

I am the only one in my school who has these -- I was asked to talk about them at a staff meeting... I think its cool...I would have never known about them if it wasn't for PT though!

QUESTION- Since this post is all about acronyms, does anyone have a cute acronym for an area for students to fill out a self-reflection/responsibility/behavior chart to go with a FISH/OCEAN theme??

I do have the STAR sheet (Stop Think and Act Resposible) from a previous PT post, but I was REALLY hoping to get a fish type acronym!

THANKS

I am having trouble with this also. I want to use it every year and not have to have it follow my theme and change it. My colr is RED, school mascot is PANTHER and my last name is RIDDICK. I would really like to use my last name so when we move again in two years, (miltary - retirement) I can keep uing the same. Help please!

Love your ideas!
