Daily Behavior Charts

Does anyone use a simple daily behavior sheet for parent communication? I would like to use the same sheet for each day of the week and send it home in the parent folder on Friday.
Any ideas welcomed!

I'm not sure if you're talking about the same thing, but mine is located at the bottom of the weekly newsletter (that they get every Monday morning). There are 5 little squares, and that's where I stamp a smiley face at the end of the day (or draw a straight or frowny face if they misbehaved or didn't bring homework). There is a little box inside each bigger box, and that's where the parents initial each night.

I have it at school, or I'd show it to you!

This is my 900th post - wow!!!!!! Can you say CHATTY?!?!

I have one that I use, but I can't attach it because I'm still a new member. I use the same sheet and I send it home on Friday. I mark if they have done their homework, what color they are for the day (I use the color chart in my classroom), the rule they broke, and my signature. If you give me your email address, I can email it to you.

I found one on someone's web pag and I adjusted it for me. I cannot add attachments yet, but if you would like a copy, I would be more that happy to e-mail one to you. It is basically a calendar that has behavior with a smily face next to it. The kids are responsible for filling in the happy face with the color they were on for the day. I also have homework listed on each day with a star next to it. At the end of the day, the kiddos who did not turn in homework have to color the star. The kids who turned in homework just leave theirs white. There is a spot for a parent signature on Fridays. These sheets stay in their STAR books all month and then I collect them. The kids who have signatures for the whole month get a special sticker to put on the back of their STAR book.

If you want a copy please e-mail me at jwolono@comcast.net

I have a page that has 3 rows of 5 squares each. It has a key....a smiley means a good day, a face with a straight line instead of a smile is an ok day, and an unhappy day means not so hot. The parents have to initial it every night and it took about 3 minutes to whisk through them while the kids were having DEAR and add the smiley for that day. At the end of 3 weeks, I filed them. This came in handy when a parent questioned her child's behavior grade on the report card and I was able to show weeks of unhappy faces, notes to the parent- which the parent had initialed!

I stole this idea from a colleague, but it worked so well! I use the traditional 3 color behavior management system in my room. All of the kids start out on blue. If they have to move their clip to green, they must take a green paper and fill it out. The paper is 1/6th of a regular sheet. It looks like this:
Name:_______________
Date:_________ Time:______
I moved my clip to green because:
___________________________
Parent Signature:_____________

I have yellow sheets and red sheets if they move there as well. The kids put the sheet and their planner on my desk and when I get a chance, I staple them into their planner so that their parents could check them that night. I check the planner every morning so I just pull them out of the planner then and file them away. I worked wonderfully this year. Students who keep their clips on blue receive a stamp on their hand as they walk out the door.
